Civil War Sword Roaster
The Civil War sword brings to mind a bygone era when a gentlemen would no more leave his quarters without his sword then without his pants! Today, we cannot appreciate the personal bond a man had with his sword. Legend has it that American civil war General Robert E. Lee carried one of these gallant swords in his final defeat at the hands of General Grant at Appomattox. Following traditional surrender etiquette, Lee offered up his prized sword to his union counterpart. Grant not willing to further humiliate Lee, graciously refused the offer. Later Lee said of the devastating war" "We failed, but in the good providence of God apparent failure often proves a blessing." Let's stand with Lee and Grant and raise our swords for Civility in an Uncivilized world.
